We're unwaivering optimists passionate
about governments doing good
Esper is crafted with care for our public service
A letter from our CEO
We believe in a government that moves at the speed of citizen need.
A permit approved in hours. A benefit that reaches a family the week they need it. A passport renewed in minutes from your phone. For most people, government still moves far slower than the rest of the world. And the reason for this lag? Decisions that are buried in manual files, disparate systems, and chronic loss of institutional knowledge.
We started Esper in 2018 to bring clarity to the regulations and policies that govern us. Over the last 8 years, our platform has served as the hub where mission-critical policies and regulations are made. From police departments on the east coast to agencies in Iowa, thousands of civil servants make decisions in Esper that impact over 130 million citizens daily.
I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished so far, and couldn’t be more excited about where we’re headed. Today, Esper is the leading, trusted source for government decisionmaking. Governments and citizens alike benefit from the institutional memory captured and put into action by our platform.
There’s no denying we’re entering a collective paradigm shift in how we use technology. Gone are the days of data silos and information buried in paper. Esper is the modern answer to the persistent problem governments face: how to thread all of the knowledge our agency has into a central, usable place?
I’m delighted to announce Esper’s Knowledge Center, our AI platform designed to help governments get the answers they need when they need them the most.
The name Esper comes from the Latin sperare — to hope. That optimism sits behind everything we build: a government that moves at the speed of citizen need. That is the standard that Esper powers.
